چکیده

Background: Morbidly adherent placenta (MAP) describes a spectrum of disorders including adherence all or part to uterine wall. The aim this study was evaluate the potential role 3D Tomographic Ultrasound Imaging (TUI) and Doppler studies in diagnosis morbidly placenta. Methods: This prospective conducted on 50 female patients, aged from 20 40, who were pregnant with history one more caesarean section deliveries hysterotomies, diagnosed by 2D ultrasound as previa its lower edge covering scar previous (major minor anterior), antepartum haemorrhage, gestational age form 28 weeks full term. whole scanned systematic fashion using both grayscale power then displayed TUI. Results: By ultrasound, obliteration retroplacental hypoechoic area found 48% patients sensitivity 88.89% accuracy 94%. Placental lacunae 54% 100% 100%. Myometrial thinning 40% 74.07% 86% interruption bladder interface 28% 51.85% 74%. colour study, vascular gab 86%. vascularity 26% 96.3% 96% bridging vessel 48.15% 72%. image could predict MAP presence reach 98%. Conclusion: TUI technique facilitates evaluation myometrial thickness depth placental invasion due much better differentiation between various tissues compared conventional 2D. is useful adjunctive tool color refine MAP.

Management of morbidly adherent placenta

Morbidly adherent placenta is a rare complication of human placentation that may threaten maternal life due to massive haemorrhage. Its incidence is increasing due to the rising caesarean section rates worldwide. A high degree of clinical suspicion coupled with ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and cystoscopy helps in antenatal diagnosis. Elective caesarean hysterectomy with a multid...

Three-dimensional Power Doppler Ultrasound Study of the Placenta

Advanced ultrasound technology has been a valuable tool in the assessment of placental anatomy and physiology. Con ventional twodimensional (2D) sonography reveals placental morphological characteristics, 2D color Doppler can assess blood flow in the placenta, 2D power Doppler can evaluate placental vascular trees, and threedimensional (3D) ultra sound gives more detailed information on the...

Association between etiopathogenesis of morbidly adherent placenta and adenomyosis

The association between etio-pathogenesis of morbidly adherent placenta (MAP) or placenta cretas and adenomyosis has never been described in medical literature. Contrary to the believe that MAP is due to direct invasion of trophoblastic tissues into the adjacent normal myometrium due to prior uterine surgeries, this article describes how pre-existence of adenomyosis acts as a precursor for the ...
